As you may or may not have worked out, most things I read have some element of stupidity in it. I enjoy stupidity. Like when boys punch walls when they are angry and break their hand, or when 20-pluses insists on drinking like 16-year-old with parents on holiday, the entertainment factor is high. Extremely high.
Which is why I so enjoyed reading The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band; this bio is bascially an amalgamation of the two.
And you know what makes it even better? Please note the following 3 items of ridiculousness:
- Book title
- The characters/people/idiots
- The fact that pretty much everyone I knew was reading this at the same time.
And why, you ask, was every one reading this the same time? Well the fact is that this book is pretty great. It’s completely readable, completely hilarious and completely ridiculous on many levels over.
e.g.
Mick: to make sure that they guys didn’t know I was drinking again, I would have straight vodka. They thought I was just drinking water.
Nikki: Mick was drinking straight vodka out of a glass. He thought that he was drinking water.
Need I say more? Didn’t think so. That is all.
